Our journey from Medellín to Jardín begins with an exploration of the Cauca River Valley near Bolombolo, where the dry forest prevails. During this leg of the trip, we'll be on the lookout for the Antioquia Wren (Thryophilus sernai), Greyish Piculet (Picumnus granadensis), and Apical Flycatcher (Myiarchus apicalis). After enjoying a delightful lunch, we'll continue our journey to Jardín, where the afternoon treats us to the mesmerizing spectacle of an Andean Cock-of-the-Rock lek (Rupicola peruviana).

We will stay in Jardín, a charming town in southwest Antioquia, enchants visitors with its colonial architecture, lush foliage, and winding waterways. Nestled in the western mountains, it is home to dominant ecosystems of mountain and cloud forests. You'll also appreciate the delightful average temperature of 17°C (63°F).

On the following day, our adventure takes us to The Ventanas area, approximately 1.5 hours from Jardín. Our main focus here will be observing the endemic and endangered Yellow-eared Parrot (Ognorhynchus icterotis). Additionally, we'll have the chance to visit a charming rural family who have attracted the Chamí Antpitta (Grallaria alvarezi) and Chestnut-naped Antpitta (Grallaria nuchalis) to a worm feeder. Other interesting species we may encounter in the area include the Black-billed Mountain-Toucan (Andigena nigrirostris), Tourmaline sunangel (Heliangelus exortis), Mountain Cacique (Cacicus chrysonotus), and Gray-browed Brushfinch (Arremon assimilis).

After lunch in Jardín, we'll begin our journey back to Medellín, marking the end of our unforgettable birdwatching adventure.
